Holiday Parties In Downtown Asheville

The holiday season is magical… but there is just something about experiencing it in the beauty and splendor of Asheville, North Carolina. Nestled in the awe-inspiring Blue Ridge Mountains, you’ll have a picture postcard-perfect backdrop for your celebrations, and the relatively temperate weather (the mid-40s to mid-50s) makes it possible to enjoy strolling through downtown and seeing the sites. And if we’re lucky, we’ll get a gentle snowfall like the bow on top of the best present under the tree. What could be better? Well… how about a party or two to warm up the days and evenings!

Downtown Asheville Holiday Festivities

There are plenty of activities in Asheville for all ages and interests. Whether you’re hanging with the kids or planning a night out, take time to visit some G-rated attractions:

Winter Lights at the North Carolina Arboretum

This delightful extravaganza features over 500,000 LED lights throughout the Arboretum’s gorgeous gardens - making winter just as spectacular as the growing season! There is a three-acre tour, the highlight of which is a 50-foot animated tree that sways along with the music. As you stroll through the grounds, enjoy cocoa, cider, s’mores, wine, and beer.

Christmas at the Biltmore

If you’ve never visited the Biltmore, put it on your Christmas list ASAP. Touted as America’s largest home, this 8000-acre masterpiece offers a taste of French Renaissance style right in the Blue Ridge Mountains. During the holiday season, the Biltmore delivers a classic experience with a 55-foot Norway spruce with 55,000 lights, 60 intricately decorated trees in the castle, 30,000 lights and 150 candles, and much more.

Go during the day to enjoy the sites and lights on a self-guided tour, admission into the Downton Abbey exhibit, as well as a special wine tasting. In the evening, you can enjoy all of this and wonderful live music.

Other family-friendly daytime/early evening events include: the National Gingerbread House Competition & Display at The Omni Grove Park Inn, shopping at Biltmore Park, a ride aboard the Holly Jolly Christmas Trolley, Biltmore Village and Dickens Festival, and much more!

Ready to ramp up your evening? Try:

You can get $5 off your ticket price if you bring a new toy to donate to Toys for Tots. Let’s give some kiddos a great holiday!

Asheville’s Award-Winning Restaurants

There is always something scrumptious on the menu at our favorite restaurants, and the holiday season is especially warm and welcoming. Stop by and grab a bite before you continue your festivities.

Off the Wagon Dueling Piano Bar

We don’t need an excuse to celebrate at Off the Wagon - but it never hurts! We guarantee a festive experience set to downtown Asheville’s best soundtrack. Will our musicians play Christmas carols? Maybe…. Will you have a fantastic time? Absolutely.
